Dr. Andrew C.E. Wong received his Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at the University of Alberta in 2011. He then went on to do a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. During his fourth year of dental school and GPR, he developed his passion for pediatric dentistry while treating both pediatric patients and those with special needs. He then completed his Masters of Craniofacial Science and Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Wong is currently a certified specialist in pediatric dentistry and a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He is also a member of the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and teaches part time at the University of Alberta. Previously, Dr. Wong volunteered as an EMR with St. John Ambulance.
During his training he received multiple awards: the Arthur D. Cumming Medal for outstanding merit in dentistry care for children, the Dr. W. Scott Hamilton Oral Surgery Scholarship, Edmonton District Dental Society Student Award, Pierre Fauchard Academy Student Dental Research Scholarship, and the Dr. Keith Titley Pediatric Dentistry Graduate Training Scholarship from the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Wong is an avid golfer and an accomplished badminton player. He was born and raised in Edmonton and is very happy to be back in his hometown.
